Synopsis

Things are bad enough for fourteen-year-old Erin Archer when an accident shatters her dreams of becoming a professional ballerina. But they get even worse when she has a strange reaction to her pain medications and begins seeing terrifying visions of a mysterious, inhuman figure.
Desperate for help and answers, Erin's parents send her to spend the summer with her mother's cousin, Kirchel Marin—a skilled herbalist who's obviously hiding a few mysteries of her own.
But before they have a chance to solve any of Erin's problems, one of her visions causes her to stumble onto Kirchel's biggest secret...and into a completely different world. A world full of magic and monsters. A world where Erin might just find the answers she's looking for.
As long as she doesn't get herself killed first....
